The boys in Ms Sweeney's class made their own Lava Lamps today. Check out our videos and photos below. The boys found out that the bubbles of the Lava lamp are bubbles of gas that rise through the oil to the top of the bottle because they are light, taking some coloured (food coloring) water with them. The bubbles of gas burst when they reach the top, the gas escapes, and the drops of coloured water sink back down through the oil.
