National History Museum 'Dead Zoo' & National Museum of Ireland- Archaeology
Ms Sweeney's 5th class and Mr.Kennedy's 6th visited two amazing museums today, the National History Museum 'Dead Zoo' and the National Museum of Ireland-Archaeology.
The NMI is over 165 years old. The museum is known for its historic taxidermy and internationally important scientific collections.
THE NMI ARCHAEOLOGY, specialises in Irish and other antiquities dating from the Stone Age to the late Middle Ages. It also houses 'bog bodies'. Bog bodies are human cadaver that have been naturally mummified in a peat bog.
We also took a stroll through Merrion Square Park and had our lunch there. We spotted the Oscar Wilde Memorial Sculpture. It is a collection of three statues in Merrion Square commemorating Irish poet and playwright Oscar Wilde.
